About Angelina’s Choice

Welcome to Angelina’s Choice

Angelina’s Choice is a carefully selected skincare guide created from the perspective of a medical esthetician with 18 years of professional experience.

This is not a space for introducing every popular product or following every beauty trend. I created Angelina’s Choice to share products that I genuinely understand, trust, and believe may be valuable for particular skin types and conditions.

A well-known brand name or attractive packaging is never enough to earn my recommendation. Every choice begins with the formulation, its intended purpose, skin compatibility, and what I have learned from working with real skin throughout my professional practice.

My Korean Heritage and Early Connection to Cosmetic Science

I was born and raised in Korea, where my connection to skincare began long before K-Beauty became a global trend. My father was a professor of chemistry, so scientific thinking, research, and thoughtful discussion were naturally part of my childhood environment.

Through my father’s academic connections, I became familiar with the people and scientific culture connected to Amore’s laboratory research. I observed how highly knowledgeable researchers approached their work—with intelligence, discipline, curiosity, and a serious commitment to research and development.

My father was not employed by Amorepacific and did not hold an official position within the company. However, this early exposure allowed me to appreciate how dedicated laboratory research supported the company’s development and helped it become an important influence on modern K-Beauty and Korean dermocosmetics.

Amorepacific, LG, and the Growth of Korean Skincare

LG also holds an important place in Korea’s scientific and cosmetic history. Its beauty heritage can be traced to Lucky Chemical Industrial Co., established in 1947, which produced Lucky Facial Cream. Over time, its household, cosmetics, and beauty businesses developed into what is now LG Household & Health Care.

Amorepacific and LG H&H have both contributed to the development of modern Korean skincare. Their research, formulation technology, and wide range of beauty brands helped shape what the world now recognizes as K-Beauty.

Today, Amorepacific’s skincare portfolio includes AESTURA, IOPE, LANEIGE, and Sulwhasoo, while LG H&H’s portfolio includes CNP Laboratory, belif, and THE WHOO. LG H&H also operates PHYSIOGEL in key markets, including Asia and North America, although PHYSIOGEL has German skin-science roots.

These brands serve different purposes—from barrier-focused dermocosmetics and research-driven skincare to hydration and luxury beauty. AESTURA and CNP Laboratory are closely connected to the growing K-Derma category, while the other brands represent different strengths within modern Korean skincare. I will introduce and evaluate selected products individually rather than recommending an entire brand automatically.

My personal history gives me respect for the scientific cultures behind these companies, but it does not mean that I automatically recommend every product they make. Each formula must still earn my professional confidence.

18 Years of Professional Skincare Experience

For 18 years, I have worked as a medical esthetician with clients of different ages, skin types, ethnic backgrounds, and skin conditions. This experience has taught me that a product cannot be judged by its ingredient list or marketing claims alone.

Texture, layering, climate, age, sensitivity, hydration level, barrier condition, and the rest of a person’s skincare routine can all affect how a formula performs. A product that works beautifully for one person may cause congestion, dryness, irritation, or no meaningful improvement for another.

My recommendations are informed by professional knowledge, practical experience, and years of observing how real skin responds—not by trends alone.

How I Choose and Review Products

I introduce only selected products that I understand and have sufficient confidence in. Before recommending a product, I consider its complete formulation, ingredient combinations, texture, purpose, tolerability, appropriate skin types and conditions, and how it fits into a practical skincare routine.

I do not feature a product simply because it is popular, newly launched, beautifully packaged, or promoted by an influencer. I also do not publish a recommendation merely after receiving or briefly trying a free sample. A sample is not enough to establish professional confidence in a product.

Whenever possible, my reviews draw upon meaningful personal or professional familiarity with the product, together with my 18 years of experience observing how different formulas interact with real skin.

Even products from companies I respect are assessed individually. No brand makes every product suitable for every person, and an excellent formula can still be the wrong choice for a particular skin type, condition, climate, or routine.

Independence and Transparency

Trust is more important to me than the number of products featured on this site. My opinions are my own and are based on professional knowledge, practical experience, and confidence in the individual product.

Some articles may eventually contain affiliate links. If a reader chooses to purchase through one of these links, I may receive a small commission at no additional cost to the reader. An affiliate relationship does not determine which products I select or what I say about them.

Any affiliate link or relevant commercial relationship will be clearly disclosed. If I do not have sufficient knowledge, experience, or confidence in a product, it will not receive my recommendation.

What You Will Find Here

Angelina’s Choice will introduce selected K-Derma and K-Beauty products, professional skincare, and carefully chosen formulas from Korean, Canadian, European, and international brands.

Reviews will look beyond advertising claims. I will explain what a product is designed to do, the important features of its formulation, which skin types or conditions may benefit, who should approach it cautiously, and how it may fit into a complete routine.

You will also find brand introductions, product comparisons, ingredient discussions, and practical guidance shaped by 18 years of professional skincare experience.

This site is not about finding one miracle product for everyone. It is about making more thoughtful choices for individual skin.

My Promise to Readers

I will always aim to explain both the strengths and limitations of a product. I will not promise that one formula will work for everyone, and I will not ignore concerns simply because I respect the company behind it.

As a Korean-born Canadian based in Toronto, I bring together my early familiarity with Korean cosmetic science and 18 years of professional skincare experience. My goal is to help readers choose with greater confidence—not to pressure them to buy more.

Thank you for visiting Angelina’s Choice. I hope this becomes a thoughtful, trustworthy place where professional experience and carefully selected skincare come together.
